Wounded by Your Love

Happy Friday! I hope all is well. I've had quite a week! I'm sleep deprived to the say the least. One thing that I have experienced in my past that has been difficult for me to express is losing someone I love, whether it's through death, dissociation, or any other means. Losing an association with someone you care about is always painful. Sometimes you don't realize the loss until years later, when you crave that companionship. With that, this poem questions that wound for me in my personal life when I was younger and sorts through my feelings.

Wounded by Your Love

When I was young,
We split up.
We lost our way; it stung

It was a slow sting
One that got worse overtime
Clinging into my skin; there are so many memories, now that I’m recollecting

That formed a wound of your love,
The memories of you walking me to school
The memories of us shooting squirt guns
The memories of us having soccer competitions
The memories of our sibling like bonding time
The memories of us smiling, and laughing
A powerful unit

I went on to a new school, and house
You stayed in the old
Following family orders

And as our families grew apart
You went on your ways, moving up and without looking back.
But, I, a little girl at heart

Who had that wound of your love
That would sometimes, disappear, and reappear
It was tough

Because, I never knew why
You never wanted to keep that relationship
There were so many times I tried,
Reaching out to you,

It’s true,
But you didn’t want to,

Keep that relationship
And that made the wound reappear
And my heart was like a wrecked ship

Wounded by your love.

A Prayer for You, Little One

Happy Wednesday everyone.  As I approach 30, I find myself constantly thinking of children. Sometimes, I'm thinking, what's wrong with me? I've this strong conflicting desire to have them and nurture them. I always blame it on my female hormones, but I'm sure that's not true. Is it just me, or is it anyone else too? I want three little munchkins and a chaotic house.

Anyway, enough of that rant. I've also been seeing some of my old friends struggle through pregnancies, and children's health when they are born,  (where I'm getting this poem's inspiration from)  and this is a prayer poem for a mom to read to her children and to remind them to cherish the family moments.

Enjoy this poem. It's very special to me.

A Prayer for You Little One

God bless you little one.
May your legs grow fully so you can run
Towards your smiling grandmother.

May your heart beat fully
So you know what your resting heart feels like,  and you peacefully
Fall asleep in your sitter's arms.

May you see everything,
So you can see the sparkle in your mother's eye
When your father looks at her lovingly.

May your ears hear fully,
So you can listen truly,
To the words your sister says to protect you from world's cruelties.

May you be able to touch,
So you feel the happiness of your father's kiss, so much,
Creating a special, unbelievable bond.

May you be able to smell, the scent
Of the sweat, on your father's unwashed shirt
Of hard-work to provide for you.

May you think clearly,
So you always know the value of family
And you can always find your way home.

God bless you little one.
Mostly, may you grow strong, beautiful, and healthy, so I can love you.

Below is a link to leggings that I love. You're going to pray a pretty penny for them, but I promise they fare so well for me with that yoga and barre class.  Also there is a link to shoes that I mostly use for athleisure purposes.
