Gratitude Always

Lately it’s the small moments that keep me going. Leading my life with gratitude has been the foundation I’ve been trying to preserve. The day I got married I wrote in my gratitude journal. I always reflect on what I’m grateful for daily. This practice centers me; it helps me stay calm. It’s the fireflies that light up the sky. It’s the jamming to music with my dad. It’s the smile on my nephew’s face when I FaceTime him. It’s the replay of our wedding video seeing my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle. It’s the strength of my sister as always being reliable. It’s the safety of my lover’s hugs. It’s the way my cat climbs on me to sleep right on top me at 7 am. It’s her whines for affection. It’s the quiet mornings of getting my daily coffee and the barista’s smile. Life is so materialistic, but these moments are not. They could go away in a heartbeat. Gratitude always.

The Small Moments

It’s the small moments that take your breath away

It’s pets of the cat, feeling the purr from the gentleness of her touch

It’s the smell of fresh new roses in the kitchen.

It’s the joy of watching your plants grow, from just feeding them a few ice cubes weekly.

Its the joy of a lovers cuddle at night, which completes your sleep.

It’s the small things; it’s how they get you when you are together

It’s the kisses you like only from them
